What Drives You?

Dear Maribeth,

It seems I always find myself without a car…my question to you is…Will I ever get a car of my own??

Hi Mimi,

It’s nice to hear from you again. I pulled 3 cards for your question, asking for past, present and future. The first card to come up is the 6 of Pentacles. This is a card of generosity, and shows me that you are an extremely generous and giving person. The pentacles are the suit of money and material possessions, and in relation to your question they also remind me of wheels. Because it came up in answer to your question about getting a car, it suggests that having a car is not as important to you as other ways of spending your money. This seems to be why you haven’t had a car recently. Maybe you are thinking of other’s needs before your own, but more likely, your need for a car hasn’t been more important to you than doing for others. You must take care of your own needs so that you can continue to take care of those you love.
The next card is the Queen of Cups, a lovely light-haired and light-hearted woman. She is soft and sweet and admiring her golden cup. Her intent gaze symbolizes the achievements brought about by imagination and suggests the vision of life as joyful. It is up to you to manifest what is in your heart. When life is good, we rarely think about ways to improve upon it, especially when we are busy appreciating life’s blessings. If your lack of a car hasn’t been a big problem, it is tough to motivate to go out and buy one.
This perfectly sets us up for the next card, the Queen of Pentacles. The pentacle on this Queen’s lap is the reality of what the cup in the Queen of Cups’ lap shows is possible. And, it looks somewhat like a steering wheel! I see you getting a car as a definite possibility. You have the money, as is shown by the pentacles in the first card, you have the vision, as shown by the Queen of Cups and as soon as it is important enough to you to make it real, it will happen, as shown by the Queen of Pentacles. It seems that it hasn’t been a priority for you but the more you think about it, the more available the idea becomes and the closer it gets to being. The pentacles are different from the other suits because they symbolize physical reality, the actual manifestation of something that is in your mind. The posture of the women in these cards is that of contentment and patience and gently receiving what you need. Make it a priority, put some money away toward it each week, and soon you’ll be driving around in your heart’s desire!
