No Naptime for Tina
Dear Maribeth,
I love your column and have a couple of questions for you. I founded a little company last year and I’m facing either costly expansion or a sleeping beauty fate. Which way should I be going? Is it worth my money and effort? And what’s up with my sleepy marriage anyway? Any advice? I need it.
Thank you,
Tina
Dear Tina,
You really are quite ready to fall asleep there in the middle, between your work and your husband. Yawn. You got the King of Wands, the 2 of Swords, and the Knight of Swords. As is apparent by the blindfold, it’s not really clear what the right move is for you. Let’s take it one card at a time and see.
The King of Wands is about you being in control. I don’t know what a “sleeping beauty fate” is but it doesn’t seem like it is for you. By looking at the way this king is ready to get up and go, it looks to me like you need action, you want excitement and you are ready for change. Enough with the modest growth! From looking at his crown, I say you know what the right thing to do is and you know how to do it. It’s time to get off your duff and make a move. You are ready to go! Look at the eyes on this king! See the intention on that face? It appears you have a vision that needs to be executed. What’s holding you back?
The 2 of Swords shows how easy it is to do nothing when you are not sure what to do. Just block everything out and sit and wait. This is your approach as you ask this question, and it is why it is not working for you – it’s not the right approach. Notice how you have covered up that vision and protected yourself. If you do nothing, it can’t be the wrong thing, right? Boring! You know you want and need to take some action! This applies to both your work and your marriage.
And there you go! See the Knight of Swords – how different the energy is from the King of Wands? That is you jumping on your horse of life, wielding your sword. Look out for anyone who tries to get in your way!! You are sure of where you’re going and you will get there. I would however warn you not to rush, don’t be too headstrong once you make up your mind. You are in the center of the decision making process and it won’t happen overnight. You need to stimulate both your work and marriage gradually or you risk burn out.
In conclusion, it is definitely worth your effort. You can grow your business at a pace that doesn’t break you financially. Find a happy medium where you can expand, but not bust. Same with your marriage, you need to generate more excitement but not lose control. Use humor and a positive energetic attitude to break up the dullness, and create the excitement you crave! Keep me posted!
