Dangerous Liaison
Dear Maribeth,
I am having a romance with a guy who lives in another state where he owns a car dealership and is married with 3 kids. I would say we have had equal amounts of joy and heart ache over the last month or so. I feel he is one of my soulmates and he does too. He can be verbally abusive and a hothead sometimes, but so damn fun and lovable. He has considered divorce for years and years and really wants to leave her this year, but is vascillating with guilt over the kids. He owns a gorgeous house and lives here half the year without his family. He is miserable with his family and drinks his sorrow away while he is there. Another psychic told me she sees him getting a divorce, inspired by meeting me. I am really reluctant to open my heart because he can be such a hothead and down right mean when he is angry. I know I am very sensitive, but I must be careful with my heart. He confessed he is a “bastard” at times, but maybe he will calm his anger down after some changes occur in his personal life. Don’t know. So there is the scoop. Perhaps that will shed some light on the card reading?

Dear Anonymous,
Your reading brought us the 7 of Wands, the 8 of Wands and the Emperor. With two out of three cards being wands, this relationship feels like a lot of effort is required. Wands symbolize work, decisions and enterprise. You have not chosen an easy path for yourself.
The 7 of Wands shows a person toiling away with an expression of haste. Notice his right shoe is different than his left, and his right foot is dangerously near a cliff. You are obviously in a very insecure situation and trying to get a foothold where you can feel more grounded and safe. This battle for security appears risky and uncertain.
The 8 of Wands is about the build up of momentum that can lead to success. It is also a card of travel, as it symbolizes progress being made. It shows a swiftness of movement and action being taken. Whatever happens is going to happen quickly, this is not going to be a long, drawn-out affair.
The Emperor symbolizes a person enjoying their seat of power. He likes the situation the way it is, especially since he knows where everyone stands. He is careful not to upset anyone. His lack of self control comes from the pressure of knowing that eventually he will have to make a decision. He is not at peace because he is not fully comfortable anywhere he goes. He feels under enormous pressure to appease everyone in order to get what he wants whether it be selling cars, or making you or his wife happy. He tries to contain all the stress he feels, but it comes out either as near hysterical fun or mean anger.
In looking at these cards as a whole, it appears that you are working hard toward encouraging him to make a decision that he doesn’t want to make. Unfortunately for you, this is a situation to which you have very little control and we all just have to sit and wait to see what he decides to do. If I were you, I wouldn’t put my heart in his hands because it looks like he is about to crush that glass ball in his left hand.
