I am in college with so many opportunities ahead of me. I don’t know where to start for a career or a lifestyle in general. What am I to do? What should I do in life that will make me happy especially when it comes to men & careers?

Dear RWU Misfit,
Thank you for writing in. I know it can be scary when you have so many options. Often people go to college when they aren’t sure what to do hoping that when they are done, they’ll know better. Then when it’s over and they are still not sure, panic sets in. I’m going to turn over three cards and ask one card per question.
“What am I to do?” brought up the Knight of Cups. This card shows a person who has achieved success, symbolized by the fish on his jacket. We can tell he has something to give by the way he is offering the cup out in front of him. This tells me that you have skills. You have been doing things for others, and they are benefiting by it. Think about what people ask you to do. What do others say you are good at? The people in your life who love you can help you identify what will bring you happiness and success.
“What should I do in life that will make me happy especially when it comes to men?” gave us the Ace of Pentacles. This is a wonderful card of opportunity; aces show us we are at the beginning of an important cycle. The path surrounded by lilies heading toward the arbor implies that somewhere down the road you will have a formal commitment, likely marriage. The outstretched hand with the pentacle in it shows me that there is someone very close to entering your life who will bring this bliss. Look around! There will be a man coming who will make you happy.
When it comes to your career, you got the Emperor. He represents an authority figure, and can often be found in a disciplinary environment. Perhaps your lack of excitement about leaving school is because you should stay there. Have you thought of pursuing some kind of a teaching career? Maybe you would prefer to continue your education. You can become an authority on a particular subject and share that knowledge with others if you choose to do so.
If we step back and look at your cards we can see that you have a nice, balanced reading here. One of the cups suit, one pentacle and one major arcana card. There is a gentleman coming in, opportunities to make some money and a respectable position in store for you. If you can eliminate the pressure you feel and are confident in your future, all the pieces will fall into place. Don’t forget about us little people when you become a Bigshot!
