See John Wane
Dear Readers,
This is the second in a series of columns about the hopeful candidates for our 2008 presidential election. This week I’d like to ask the cards about John McCain. Specifically, can he overcome his current poor standing? Let’s see what the cards say.
The random draw brought us The Star, the 7 of Swords and the 4 of Swords. Two out of the three cards are from the suit of swords, which represent struggle and difficulties. Not such a good turnout for Senator McCain.
The Star reminds me of the star above his logo. Apparently, this logo is not receiving positive response from the public. Reminiscent of the U.S. Army logo, it appears to remind people of his military background and his position about our participation in Iraq. The Star card represents truth revealed, and as a politician he will have trouble if his truth does not support the majority feeling among voters. The pitchers flowing water outward from both hands imply his campaign funds pouring out. Which begs the question: Where are they filling from?
The person in the 7 of Swords is donning a red hat and red boots, reminding us of his Republican party. As he tiptoes to the left, he is leaving the camp and taking his issues with him. If he alienates himself from his party, he will end up holding the swords alone. There is an air of secrecy about this card, and untrustworthiness. Where is going and what is he doing? Who is he sneaking away from? This card shows an unstable situation that creates uneasiness. It’s not giving me a warm feeling.
In the 4 of Swords, we see a man laying to rest. That sure doesn’t look good either. It doesn’t look like McCain is much ready for a challenge by the looks of this card. He may as well give it up. Those three swords hanging over his head could drop down any minute and be the death of him. The stained glass window and the hands clasped signify a time for prayer. Yes, I believe that is what he needs to do, but I’m not sure he’ll get what he wants. We have to believe he’ll get what he needs.
Obviously, according to these cards, things are pretty dire for John McCain. He seems very alone in each of these cards. His campaign needs some major marketing in order to help him earn a nomination. He also needs to earn people’s trust, both inside and outside of the White House. It doesn’t look like he has it in him to keep going at this point. Sorry, John.
